Guide to Making Cannabis-Infused Honey

Cannabis-infused honey or cannahoney is a delicious way of enjoying CBD’s benefits. Aside from the taste, this has been gaining attention due to honey’s health benefits.

Many people have been using honey as a home remedy for quite some time. It is also incorporated in many things, including the following:

  • Taken as is
  • Added to shakes and smoothies
  • Glaze or topping
  • Salad dressing
  • Sweetener in tea

You can use cannabis-infused honey the same way you would regular honey. And it’s easy to do; you can begin by using the following ingredients:

  • 1 of coconut oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 gram of cannabis flower

Here are the steps in making CBD-infused honey:

Break the cannabis flower

This phase will activate the flower’s THC. Break the cannabis flower, place them on a baking sheet, and spread them all over. Bake for up to 40 minutes in a preheated oven at 240 F while stirring occasionally.

Infuse the honey

You can use a heatproof bowl or double boiler in this step. Put the oil and honey into it and turn on the heat. Add the decarboxylated cannabis flower and stir until well combined.

Simmer for a couple of hours on low heat while stirring occasionally. Make sure the temperature doesn’t exceed 160 F to retain the potency of THC.

Strain the mixture

Remove the mixture from heat and leave to cool. Use a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the cannabis flower from the mixture. Squeeze out as much of the infused honey as possible.

Store the honey

Pour the infused honey into a clean, airtight jar or container. Label the container with the date and dosage, so you know how much THC is in each serving. Place somewhere cool and away from any direct heat or light source.

Other Tips

The potency of the mixture will depend on the strength of your cannabis flower and the amount used. Start with a small amount of honey and wait 1-2 hours before consuming more to assess the potency.

Use raw, organic honey for the best taste and nutritional value. Be cautious when cooking with infused honey, as high temperatures can degrade the THC and reduce potency.

Remember to consume infused honey responsibly and start with a low dose to assess your tolerance.
